Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to my blog!  However you happened to arrive here, it's good to meet you!  Let me introduce myself:  My name is Jennifer, I'm 39, I've been married to my amazing husband, Eric, for 17 years, and I'm the lucky mom to Emily, who is now 8 years old.  We recently (ok, really about 8 months ago) moved from our first home in Colorado, to Virginia for Eric's job.  It's a temporary detail, about 2 years, and then we'll be headed to California to be near family.  I left my career as a Registered Nurse to be a stay at home mom when we got here.  It wasn't the original plan, but it just happened to work out that way.  I love being able to focus on being a wife and mom...but it also means finding creative ways to stay busy and productive when Eric and Emily are at work/school.  Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of things to DO (cleaning, laundry, cooking, going to the gym, taking care of the three dogs, various other errands...).  The more difficult part is feeling a true sense of purpose.  Leaving my decade long career as an RN, as tough as the job could be at times and as much as I craved the stay at home mom life, I was left with a hole in my heart, that I wasn't expecting.  I no longer knew what my "purpose" was.  I used to spend 40 hours+ a week caring for others, making sure patients, physicians, and staff had their needs met, and I had a huge sense of pride for the difference I could help make.  With that gone, I needed to figure out how to fulfill my desire to help others.  Enter this blog.  I know I'm not the only woman out there with this "problem" so I decided to keep a blog of my "adventures."

What better way to keep a record of my wins and fails, my struggles and triumphs as a wife, mom, and woman, and hopefully keep some of you entertained while doing so.

SO, let the adventure begin...
